Uncle Wally's Tavern and Pub

Public Works

Always a pioneer in modernization, in 1978 the town of Dirt Cove bought its water and sewer system from a traveling saleman. This individual is still being sought for questioning.

Due to what has been characterized as a "major design flaw", the fresh water and sewage lines share the same physical pipe. Visitors are advised to "go in the bushes" and avoid consuming Dirt Cove water whenever possible. In case of accidental ingestion, contact the Poison Control Center in Cow Bay.

Municipal Announcements

Dial Before You Flush
Residents of Dirt Cove are again reminded to dial 811 and consult their neighbours before flushing their toilets. We've had too many cups of tea ruined lately. Please be considerate. Thank you for your cooperation.

Firefighting Contract Awarded
The town of Dirt Cove is proud to announce that the Dirt Cove firefighting contract has been awarded to Big Bill Wrongwrub and his son Billy for the eighth year in a row. Previously, the contract had been awarded to Skipper Eli Codbread (RIP). Skipper Eli is remembered by all who watched the blue flame of his body burning for three days and nights after the tragic fire in Mayor Uncle Wally's old bar.

The contract was awarded to Bill Senior and Junior as they still own Skipper Eli's old truck to put the firefighting stuff in. They also have the key to the shed where all that stuff is locked up to.

Congrats to the Bills on their winning of the garbage hauling contract as well. Once again, their truck was a big reason they got that job.

A big thank you to the b'ys for putting out the fire Bill Junior started at the Legion last week. As one of the Legioneers said, "It was a good thing the old Bill was there to put out the fire that the young Bill started or else I would've died in there." We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

Fireman's Ball
Tickets are now available to the fireman's ball. The cost is three dollars a ticket and it will be held at Mayor Uncle Wally's bar. Music will be provided by "Mr. Tapedeck" from Hog's Harbour and the music will be pre-recorded New Country. All proceeds will go to the maintenance of the town fire/garbage/snow removeal/hurse truck and the making of a second key to the shed where all the firefighting stuff is kept to.
